29 Jan New ‘Help to Buy’ Scheme

From April 2021 a new ‘Help to Buy’ scheme will start.

The new scheme will be restricted to first-time buyers only and will include regional property price caps to ensure the scheme reaches people who need it the most.

Under the new scheme, the government will still lend buyers up to 20% of the cost of a newly built home, and up to 40% in London.

The aim of the ‘Help to Buy’ scheme remains the same, to improve the access and affordability of mortgages for newly built flats and houses.
